Spring break season is already in swing, which may have been a pretty big wake up call that Winter is nearly over! Especially if your spring break plans involve heading somewhere warm where drinks don umbrellas and people don tiny swim suits.
And when it comes to a hot summer body, we all wish that we could just snap our fingers and shed the winter coat. But bearing skin can be a little difficult if you’re feeling a little uncomfortable in your skin. Weight gain and cellulite can make it feel like you’ll be sweating under layers all summer, but with the right steps, you’ll be ready to show off some leg in no time!
Eating A Healthy Diet:
Cellulite is caused when fat cells push through weakened connective fibers and distorts the surface of the skin. It can be caused by genetics, lack of exercise, weight gain or lack of circulation. The unfortunate thing about cellulite is that it never goes away once it appears. BUT it can be diminished!
Lower Your Sodium, Up Your Hydration: Intaking too much sodium creates water retention in the body, which can enhance the appearance of cellulite. By staying hydrated and reducing sodium-rich food will plump up your skin and soften the appearance of the dimpling in your skin.
Add Some Fat: Though you want to ditch high saturated fats, like cream cheese, fried foods and fatty meats, adding foods high in fatty acids Omega-3 and 6 (think Salmon, olive oil and nuts) is key to slimming down and smoothing out your cellulite.
Get Some Green: Boosting your diet up with leafy greens like spinach, collard greens and broccoli is another way to reduce the appearance of cellulite because they contain the the antioxidant, lutein. This has been linked to upping your skin’s health by promoting hydration and may even increase skin elasticity.
Get Kicking: Though cardio has a minimal effect on cellulite, combining weight-building cardio is the perfect way to reduce fat, while building muscle. Taking a HIIT or kickboxing class is a perfect way to knock cellulite out and get your body looking picture perfect.
Cool Down While Heating Things Up: CoolSculpting alone isn’t going to cut it for maximum cellulite reduction, but it will shrink the fat cells down and reduce the layers of fat for a smoother finish. But pairing CoolSculpting with Thermage will blow cellulite to smithereens. This radio frequency treatment will tighten and smooth the surface of the skin to get your body beach ready!
