Kim Kardashian may break the internet today with the cover photo of Paper Magazine, as you may have already seen. Particularly, the asset that she is best known, her bottom, has yet again left fans with jaws to the ground and controversial comments.
“It is possible that Kim Kardashian may have had some surgical help to make her biggest asset more famous,” says triple board certified NYC’s top plastic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir.
Kim has always focused on showing off her bottom, and it is very likely that she had fat transfer performed in to make her bottom bigger.
In her case, she most likely had fat from her stomach and thighs taken out by liposuction, and then injected into her bottom to make it fuller and more enhanced--this is technically known as fat transfer. When performed by a highly skilled surgeon, fat transfer delivers subtle and natural looking results. Since the fat transfer is from your own body, there is no risk for allergic reaction. In Kim’s case, you can go from slimmer abdomen and thighs to a more enhanced behind.
When performing fat transfer, fat is harvested from areas where excess body fat is carried, such as: abdomen, hips, thighs, arms, and back. The fat is then processed and precisely injected into the area proposed for treatment, where volume is to be restored or enhanced. Stem Cells and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) can help enhance fat transfer.
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy uses therapy uses the patient’s own blood which is centrifuged to separate out this special components, and when activated, these platelets release proteins that are beneficial for overall skin rejuvenation.
“Adding PRP improves the retention and survival of fat in a fat transplant procedure, and since PRP is rich in proteins, it enhances healing,” says triple board certified NYC’s top plastic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir.
