With instagram accounts overflowing with airbrushed images of women boasting perfect pouts, women across the globe have taken to fillers in order to achieve the perfect lip proportions. Although fillers are a wonderful solution to boosting the volume of your lips, sometimes it doesn’t quite look natural.

If you’re someone who is looking for a more natural increase to their lip size, then a lip lift may be the perfect alternative to injectables. Plus, it lasts, so you’ll enjoy a boosted smile without feeling the constant prick of a surgeon’s needle.

Ideal Candidates:

Any woman or man who feels self-conscious about their smile and resting face. You may have been born with thin, flat lips or age may be slowly be draining away your lips volume - either way, if your lips are affecting your self-esteem, then this procedure will be the confidence booster.

How It Works:

This 90 minute long procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so patients are awake during it. The area around the lips is numbed and then an incision is made just under the columella (the area of skin and cartilage between the nostrils). A strip of skin and tissue is then removed from the area under the nose, shortening the space in between the nose and the upper lip and creating a lift to the upper lip that exposes more of the pink portion of skin and leaving about ⅛” of the teeth exposed.

Recovery ranges from 7-10 days, but after 3-4 days, you are permitted to return to work, though you will be quite swollen and feel a tightness around the mouth. Swelling will dissipate completely in about a month.
