Are you an ideal candidate for a Brow Lift / Forehead Lift?

As time spirals passed us, it leaves it’s mark imprinted on the surface of our skin. Maturity overtakes the youthful glow and displays our life experiences for all to see. As the lines become more embedded into the delicate skin of our faces, our true selves become lost behind a weathered facade. Internally, we still feel the vitality and energy of our youth; however, the surface no longer is a reflection of this.

Just as every pattern imprinted upon our skin is unique to each individual, so is the manner in which our skin ages. Some may notice the lower half of their face reveals their age, while the upper half retains its smooth, healthy appearance. Others may find the upper region to be their main area of aging.

When the aging occurs on the upper portion, it not only causes a weathered appearance, but also shifts the features of the face, lowering and rounding the brows and creating a tired, sad look to the eyes. One permanent solution that many patients decide to do is a Forehead Lift / Brow Lift.

How A Brow Lift / Forehead Lift Works:

A brow lift / forehead lift targets the upper third of the face in order to achieve a more youthful appearance by lifting and smooth the surface of the skin. It not only tightens the skin across the forehead to erase the horizontal lines, but targets the furrows and frown lines (or “the elevens”) that develop between the eyebrows and the nose.

Dr. Kassir will evaluate your skin’s maturity and elasticity to determine what technique is ideal for achieve optimum results. Using his 20 years of expertise and perfectionist touch, he’ll transform the aged layer of your skin back into the youthful surface one you deserve.

Procedure:

Typically, a brow lift / forehead lift involves an incision made along the hairline above the ears and around the forehead. The muscle and tissue underneath is repositioned and the excess fat is removed. The skin is pulled taut and staples or sutures are used in order to close the incision line. Bandages are then wrapped around the head. The surgery can range from 1-3 hours, depending on the extent of the procedure and whether there were combination surgeries involved.

Recovery Process:

Most find they experience very little pain after a brow lift / forehead lift, though stiffness and discomfort in the forehead region are common side effects. In fact, they are encouraged to move about the house after surgery - this helps stimulate blood flow to prevent blood clots.

About 2-3 days after surgery, patients are permitted to shower. After a week, the sutures or staples are removed, and the patient is usually cleared for driving and returning back to a sedentary job. Recovery normally takes 1-2 weeks, during which swelling and bruising is common, but will gradually fade. Scarring will fade over time, but this will take several months, though topical treatments can speed the fading process.

Results:

Results from a brow lift vary from patient-to-patient based on their diet and personal habits, such as fitness and skin care routines. One can expect to enjoy the results from 5-7 years.
