“I searched for a doctor who specializes in ethnic rhinoplasty and would address my specific needs. I came across Dr. Kassir and was impressed with his work. After consulting with him, I was confident that I chose the right doctor. My biggest fear was that my nose would look overdone, and after consulting with Dr. Kassir, that fear was eliminated. The entire experience was comfortable, he explained the procedure in detail and emphasized a natural-looking nose that would be proportional with the rest of my facial features,” says our patient.
This patient is 30 years old and of Peruvian descent. She came to our office because she was unhappy with the size and shape of her nose. Her nose was crooked- it deviated to the right, her tip did not have definition, and she had a profound bump on the bridge of her nose. She wanted to correct her breathing and desired a straighter, more triangular nose with a refined tip that would remain natural and proportional with the rest of her facial features.
Dr. Kassir specializes in Hispanic or Latino rhinoplasty- often referred to people with Spanish, Portuguese, South and Central American heritage, as well as some Caribbean countries such as Puerto Rico, Cuba, Costa Rica and The Dominican Republic. There are three categories that are used to differentiate between Hispanic noses:Mestizo, Castilian, and Mexican-American.
These three categories of noses require a highly skilled surgeon to perform rhinoplasty surgery on them. Dr. Ramtin Kassir, a triple board certified facial plastic surgeon in New York and New Jersey who has performed many nose surgeries on Hispanic and Latin American patients, does not believe in the "one nose fits all" idea. Instead, he believes in revealing every person's uniqueness which should be manifested while performing a rhinoplasty surgery, adjusting the tools and techniques used to each individual to achieve an overall harmonious look.
Dr. Kassir performed septorhinoplasty in order to fix her breathing and to straighten her nose. “I now have a natural-looking nose that blend with the rest of my facial features. This is the nose I was supposed to be born with,” says our patient.
