Why is Justin Bieber’s Face Paralyzed?

Justin Bieber has the condition called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome or Herpes Zoster Oticus. It’s a virus that’s the same as the chicken pox virus that comes later in life and paralyzes your face. Justin Bieber’s right side of his face was affected and left him paralyzed. It affects your facial nerve & you get a rash around your ear and is very painful.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that affects the facial nerves near your inner ear. Ramsay Hunt syndrome occurs when the varicella-zoster virus reactivates in your facial nerve and causes facial paralysis and/or a painful rash on your ear, face our mouth.

Dr. Kassir is an ENT and has treated this condition many times. It must be treated with steroids, antibiotics and antivirals. This must be done within the first 3 days or you can have residual side effects.
