Before Rhytidectomy (Face Lift) by Dr. Ramtin Kassir
1 Week After Rhytidectomy (Face Lift) and Buccal Fat Pad Removal by Dr. Ramtin Kassir
This 84 -year-old patient felt like he looked tired constantly and noticed drooping skin along his jawline and around his smile line area. He decided to consult Dr. Kassir to see what procedures would be best for treating his concerns. Dr. Kassir recommended a full facelift to target the wrinkles on his cheeks, refine his jawline, and tighten his neckline. He also recommended buccal fat pad removal to help slim the jawline, as well. Buccal fat pads are fat deposits that occur along the cheeks, causing a rounded appearance to the face. Because diet and exercise cannot diminish the excessive fullness in the lower cheeks, the fat pads can be removed, restoring a youthful, slimmer appearance. The contour is achieved by making a 2-4cm long incision is made in the cheek and takes about an hour to perform. This procedure can be done under local or general anesthesia. There may be minor bruising or swelling, but there is very little recovery time after it. In fact, many patients can return after work the next day.
