Advantages of In-Office Tonsil Reduction:
- Faster recovery
- Performed in the office instead of the operating room
- No general anesthesia
- Patients can drive themselves home
- Return to work the next day
Radio Frequency tonsil reduction is performed in the office in about 20 minutes, using only local anesthesia, and allows patients to return to normal activity the next day! Rather than removing the tonsils in the operating room, many patients can be effectively treated by radio frequency vaporization of the outer surface of the tonsil, eliminating infection and significantly reducing their size. Radio Frequency tonsil reduction is indicated for the treatment of chronically infected tonsils, "tonsil stones" (tonsiliths), and enlarged tonsils. It is appropriate for patients over the age of 16.
In-Office Tonsil Reduction can be used to treat:
- Tonsil pockets with malodorous debris
- Tonsiliths (tonsil stones)
- Snoring and sleep apnea related to enlarged tonsils
Why is an NY and NJ Snoring & Sinus Tonsil Reduction a better choice?
Older ways of removing the tonsils and adenoids include cutting with a scalpel or burning with electrocautery. These methods can cause extensive pain and may damage surrounding healthy tissue. Our advanced technology combines bipolar radiofrequency energy with a natural saline solution to gently and precisely remove tissue leading to a fast and easier recovery. If your tonsils are a problem contributing to snoring, sleep apnea, or just your general overall health, the physicians at NY and NJ Snoring & Sinus will discuss treatment with you.
